One of those little ways I get to help my sweetie
now and then…
Today, that request proved more demanding than usual, however.
The hood release on the suburban was stuck,
and I mean good-and-stuck.
It took us a good ten minutes working together with me
pulling on that hood lever,
and Paul trying to pry it loose up front,
before he finally got it open.
And the conclusion to which he came
after looking the mechanism over,
was that it had to come out completely.
Naturally my first question was,
“How are you going to keep the hood down?”
Then I mused facetiously on the various low tech possibilities,
such as installing some kind of ring on the hood,
hooking on a bungee cord,
with the other end hooked under the fender or something.
I snorted, went inside, and left my creative and industrious husband to his work.
I may have napped a little.
I woke up to much clatter and the kids all telling me I had to come out and see the
new hood ornament!!!!!
The New Hood Ornament.
No.
I am
Not. Kidding.
Ladies, stand aside.
My husband can out-redneck any of you-all’s, any day of the week.

And one more pic for good measure,
my two precious angel-pies:
comparing the sizes of their dirty feet.

17 Jan 2011Uffdah! That Paul is one of the MOST CREATIVE guys I’ve ever encountered! And nothing he does is EVER half-way! Kudos, Paul, for figuring out how to “KEEP THE HOOD DOWN!” (This is a family joke, by the way….”be sure to keep the hood down!’)
