Once we’d met up with Grandma and Laurent, we distributed kids for the ride out to the ranch and headed back, much more slowly as we were now carrying 250 gallons of water in the trailer.
After a sandwich lunch in the cabin, Dad and the kids headed down to the valley to do some fence repair. While we were away, some cows had made themselves at home in the lowland and pulled down the fence. There were many hands eager to help, though! They took the camera along, and got great photos of the work, as well as some dramatic macro shots of a robber fly feasting on a wasp!
We ate supper a little earlier than usual, since Laurent and Grandma had to drive to Springerville to get to their hotel. The two hotels in St. Johns have both closed up since our last trip. The evening was beautiful and perfect weather for a campfire dinner. The light around sunset made for some very spectacular shots.
