New Year’s Day Hike – Part VI

Across the parking lot, this motorcycle brigade began to form up…

More people coming down the green around the stadium…

Then, these buses began to move out one after the other.  It was quite a sight.

Aww, daddy and daughters posing for Nettie.  Ain’t it sweet?

We were just getting ready to head back the way we came when — Hey! Whoa!  Are those balloons?

Very cool. :-)  So glad we got to see them go up!  After that, we headed back.

And on the way, we saw some birdies.

And the beautifully green fields along the canal.

Jacob, who had been lagging behind all day, was motivated to run far ahead of us all just so he could sit under the bridge and wait for us for a while.

And a few more birdies, before I put my camera away for the day.

It was a very fun, if frigid, New Year’s Day hike, with lots of beautiful nature to enjoy with the family, and some surprises to boot.
