Holy Thursday begins the Easter Triduum.
The mass was well attended, and celebrated in both English and Spanish. Laurent has again written her reflections on the service. It was very solemn and beautiful, particularly the stripping of the altar, and the processing of the blessed sacrament to the altar of repose, where a veritable Garden of Gethsemane, dark, mysterious, and holy had been created upon the stage in the nearby gymnasium.

We were most of the way home when I began to hear and feel a rhythmic grinding coming from the front end of my van. It grew quickly and alarmingly louder, and I pulled over and had Laurent first get out and see if perhaps it was a flat tire… it was not. I then called my husband who had driven home in the other car with Meg and Geneva, and he came to try to figure it out. We drove slowly home with hazards flashing, and he’s certain the problem is the brakes. And he’s also certain that he wont get to them this weekend. Looks like I will be getting reacquainted with my old no-A/C van for a while.

Tomorrow is a day of fasting and prayer. We will be joining the Bishop at Planned Parenthood to pray for an end to abortion, and Good Friday services will begin at 3pm. This blog will go dark from now until Easter Sunday. God bless you this Easter season.
