At Last!

At Last!

I have lived in Arizona since August  of 1997.  That is seventeen years, by my reckoning. And in that time, I have had a total of ZERO visits from my brother Doug and his family.  Yes, I have been miffy about it from time to time, but not because I think he doesn’t love me enough — just because I have so wanted to share my state with him, and all the things I like about living here.

Well, AT LAST he is here, with his lovely bride Sarah, and five of eight of his wonderful children, and from the time they arrived at their hotel (roughly 2a.m. on Tuesday morning) and I picked up the older two girls to come stay at our house, we have been having a splendid time. The cousins have spent plenty of time together, both in our visits to MN and since the advent of Facebook, online, so there was no reunion awkwardness whatsoever.  The little boys took to their new cuzzies immediately and it is almost too much of a good thing… I need earplugs, it’s such a good thing!  All the cousins have been introduced to Minecraft (you’re welcome, Sarah!), so there are always several people on computer at any given time (mostly the 7 and 8 year old boys).

Here are some pics from day one:

I homeschooled four kids all the way through high school and then fostered/adopted 7 more children. I am wife to a very smart mathematician; I dabble in photography, write and sing, paint in bright colors, and love being Catholic!
