Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!

I couldn’t even believe it – I had to go hunting through my Nettie’s World archives for proof – but it’s been 2 years since we had a proper Christmas Tree!  It was my dear Mother who generously gifted us with a replacement this year, and wow did she ever go all out!!  I may have been slightly overestimating the height of our ceiling when I said “Oh, I’m sure we have room for a 9′ tree!”  — and it just b-a-r-e-l-y fits, with a little bit of a Seussical Mount Crumpety bend at the tippy-top.  The 900 lights with which it came are twinkling perfection – I never dreamed of having such a beautiful tree.  Thanks a million, Mumzy!!  Every time we see it glowing there in the corner of the living room from floor to ceiling, we stop, smile, and bliss a little at the wondrousness. 🙂

Our tree decorating day occurred on the traditional Friday after Thanksgiving, with Grandma and Grandpa here to join in the festivities as well.  There was much joy in finding that we still had a couple of boxes of decorations, and the girls happily exclaimed over each treasure as it was brought forth.  Paul has his own way of decorating the tree —  as well as his children…. Beedo had fun in the box, in the tinsel, with the Christmas Village houses… anyway, here are my memories of the event.
