A Long Lost Friend

A Long Lost Friend

Along with final preparations for the big birthday party, last Friday was also the long awaited day when Mother’s piano was to be delivered.  It has been living at Doug’s house in Moorhead ever since she moved in with us here, and as Geneva has progressed in her musical studies, Mom has wanted to provide her with a real instrument to play (as opposed to the electronic piano we have had for the last 15 years).

We could have looked for a used piano here in town, but it would not have had the same sentimental value as the one on which I first learned my scales, annoyed my big brother by playing his songs by ear, and sat on the little bench with him, elbowing each other while playing piano four-hands arranged by our mom.  So, mom decided to hire a piano moving company and bring her old friend home.

  1. Having my dear old Kawai piano here brings more happiness than I can say!
