Day 1

Day 1

Some things Jacob accomplished today, on the first full day in the very quiet house with no girls or grandma:

  • took out the garbage twice
  • rinsed many dishes,
  • washed and scrubbed pots and pans,
  • filled the dishwasher,
  • emptied the dishwasher,
  • watered the dog,
  • fed the dog,
  • gave the dog her medicine,
  • watered the plants,
  • made his own breakfast,
  • made his own lunch,
  • helped prepare a fancy mac-and-cheese supper,
  • put a load of clothes in the washing machine, but I forgot to go in and show him how to start it, so I’ll have to work on that tomorrow.
  • played more than enough minecraft.

Some things I heard about from up in Montana:

  • movies were watched,
  • a baby was played with,
  • some wisdom-tooth-stitches got busted,
  • Megan took a walk with Margie in the meadow and got charged by a herd of eight of horses, (“it was ridiculously terrifying!”)
  • narrowly escaping a thunderous and calamitous death by grabbing the little one and jumping into a clump of “salt-cedar like trees”,
  • staying there until the horses decided to quit “frisking around in front of us and moved on.”

That sounds awesome in the telling, but I’m sure my heart would have stopped cold!

I’m given to understand that tomorrow will entail a photoshoot with the cousins.  Can’t wait to see the results!! 🙂

Cousins

Annette Heidmann

I homeschooled four kids all the way through high school and then fostered/adopted 7 more children. I am wife to a very smart mathematician; I dabble in photography, write and sing, paint in bright colors, and love being Catholic!
