Welcoming the New Year!

Our New Year’s Eve tradition was memorably upheld this year, as we rang out a very eventful 2011 and rang in a bright new 2012.  Despite what you may think, we’re not that into big parties, and hanging out together as a family is pretty much our favorite thing.  So we reveled in our evening of tasty tidbits, and watched some DVDs.

Sunday was a triple celebration, being New Year’s Day, and the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God, and finally, the 17th birthday of my lovely eldest daughter.  And since we had not done a photo shoot specifically for her “graduation pictures” as is traditional, I sent my Junior Photographer with her to the park to take some pics, which I then processed with my Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and there are some nice results.  (Note: several of the thumbnails would not load properly – disregard and simply click through with the arrows, or hit “slideshow” and all will show up as they should.)

I homeschooled four kids all the way through high school and then fostered/adopted 7 more children. I am wife to a very smart mathematician; I dabble in photography, write and sing, paint in bright colors, and love being Catholic!
