Diamond in the Rough

Hello dear blog.  Hello dear readers.  I return!

(somebody throw some ticker-tape…)

I’m going to post a series of little’uns here because everything from today would be too much pictureish fun for us all.

So today was the long awaited trip to Hobby Lobby.  Long awaited only in terms of anticipation, rather than in actual passage of time, and only by The Boy.  I had promised him that sometime before October 24th we would get there to acquire the final pieces of his Riddler costume.  And so there was great excitement and enthusiasm and whatnot as we drove our back-country road to Avondale.

The time spent there this afternoon, I must confess, was not only profitable in terms of completing our assigned task, but really quite enjoyable.  We were on no time deadline and were thus able to wander quite at our whim through the store, admiring many particular decorative items we each thought would look perfect in this or that room of our new house.  Doubtless when we actually are in the process of moving in, sorting through all the salvaged boxes etc., decorations will be at the bottom of our priority list.  But nonetheless we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

I also may have wandered briefly down the yarn aisle, and pondered the baby yarn colors with a view to making baby blankets for certain baby boys I know…

After we left there, I wanted to go over to the house and take pictures of the walls that just started going up yesterday… but there were still workers in there, and since I had already wandered through yesterday with Jacob, I didn’t want to traipse through today with two MORE children AND my camera until they were gone.  So instead, we drove around the neighborhood and wound up at our nearby park, which we do love ever so much.

While there, I took a few pics.  I’ll finish this post with those I took of Jacob, and a very important Riddler accessory.
