This week has been a little bit hectic. Paul had St. Vincent de Paul on Monday and Tuesday, the highschool girls had mass and then dodge-ball for youth group on Tuesday, Mom and Paul both had to pack for trips on Tuesday, and then this morning early (3:45) we got up and I drove them both to the airport so they could make their flights to Minnesota and California. I will admit to coming home and napping a little after dropping them off! 🙂 Here are some pics I took before and during our farewell Del Taco supper on Tuesday.
Later this morning (after my nap) I drove Laurent over to Glendale Community College where she took her placement exams. I was very proud of her when she came out with exemptions and honors scores… that is, until she revealed that the test questions were so easy she thought that, apart from the math segment, Jacob could have handled them easily. It makes me wonder a few things about our educational system…
Anyway. The rest of the day has been fairly uneventful, apart from keeping track of mom’s journey northward, which involved some delays and some strange circuitous detours by her cart driver in Denver as he drove her from her arrival gate to her departure gate; and hearing from Paul after he landed in California about the 3 car accident in which he found himself on his way from LAX to his hotel – no injuries, thanks be to God; and talking Jeff through a trip across town that included almost being demolished by an oncoming train when the car in front of him refused to budge so that he could move off the tracks until the last possible minute, while the train horn blared ever more insistently through the phone and I could only envision him leaping from the van and tumbling away as the van exploded in a fireball upon impact.
Other than that, it has been a staggeringly boring day.
