We are now two days into Tech Week for Robin Hood! – in which Megan, appropriately, plays the part of “Mother Meg”, and Geneva plays the part of the old widow, “Gertie” – and so far, nobody has come down with a deadly virus or broken any essential limbs. Two more 5pm-9/10pm rehearsals, and then Thursday night will be the first of two performances. The air is thick with excitement. I believe it will be an absolutely hysterical production and can’t wait to see what they have put together. I will be working box office for both Thursday and Saturday, which is fine since I have to get the girls there early anyway. Paul will come later with the family. We have about 8 friends and family coming on Saturday, though I’m not sure if we will have any extra guests on Thursday.
Meanwhile on the home front, we are trying to return to a sensible school schedule after taking Easter Week off. The pace is not what you would call fleet. But we’re plodding along nonetheless, and I believe Meg’s Hippocrates reading is complete, and Laurent is making good headway in Dante’s Purgatorio (which, she said, in response to my look of commiseration, is “Better than Inferno!“), while the youngers slave over their science, history, and vocabulary. Tomorrow when I take mother to PT, I will bring Jacob along with me so he and I can sit at Burger King or some such place and get some work done. Sometimes he works well with Laurent, but then again, she needs to get her own assignments completed too.
That’s it – short and sweet today, got to crack that whip! 🙂
