March/April Ranch Trip – Thursday

Thursday morning: Up early, drink plenty of coffee, load van and suburban, wish mother a bon weekend, and zoom northward in the rush-hour traffic to reach the north-branch office of our orthodontist, where Paul happily made a down-payment on braces for The Boy, who left the office quite intrigued with the new equipment in his mouth (only spacers, the braces go on Monday).  From there we drove in our separate vehicles via Payson, and the trip was absolutely adventure free (save for the stretch from Show Low to St. John’s, where Laurent got to drive with Paul in the van – her first time on the open road, and everyone lived to tell about it!).

In St. John’s we shopped for our weekend food at Wilbur’s IGA, then headed out to the ranch.  The first thing on the agenda after unpacking (and eating some chips and cheesy dip, natch) was to attempt a photo shoot.  Grandma has had the same pictures of the kids on her wall for several years, and they are ridiculously out of date.  So, rather than go to the same old Moto Photo that everyone else uses, we figured we’d give her something with a little more Heidmann flair.  Although it was VERY windy that afternoon, I had to give it my best shot, because it was the cleanest any of those faces would be all weekend!  🙂

Here (in my first ever flash photo gallery — thank you sweetie, for installing it!) is our Thursday afternoon:

Annette Heidmann

I homeschooled four kids all the way through high school and then fostered/adopted 7 more children. I am wife to a very smart mathematician; I dabble in photography, write and sing, paint in bright colors, and love being Catholic!

  1. I enjoyed looking at the photos, but it took awhile. My computer is getting a little creaky and each individual picture took forever to load! Obviously you had another great trip to the ranch.
