True Confession: Sometimes I obsess.
I’ve been this way as long as I can remember – my brain gets stuck on something and nothing will unstick it except time and immersion. It could be some form of art or craft (some of you have been around my blog long enough to remember the 500 hats…); it could be a tv show (yes, I really did watch all 5 seasons of Alias 9 times) or literature (countless reads through LOTR and the Chronicles of Narnia in my youth).
A symphony or a song can be particularly well suited to this quirk of mine because – well, I can’t really describe what happens – you could call it a profound emotional connection, but sometimes I would say it almost feels like I am physically inside the music. But that doesn’t make sense when you use words. I recently read, though, that it is common in people with ADHD to experience what is called emotional flooding – what a lightbulb moment that was. Made sense out of my entire life! But when you combine emotional flooding and a musical obsession, well, it can be a little overwhelming.
Anyway, point is, I have my enthusiasms, and I’m still learning how to live with them! 🙂
Today I’m sharing with you my current musical obsession, Perfect, by Ed Sheeran. Enjoy!
