Christmas 2016

Christmas 2016

Our traditional Christmas Eve and Christmas Day celebrations were enlivened by our eleven elves, awakened early Saturday morning to open their stockings (and eat their favorite treat – Ramen noodles – for breakfast). I admit to taking fewer pictures than I often have, but between my camera on Christmas Eve and my phone on Christmas Day (when I got away from the house without a memory card in my Canon), I did manage to capture the joy of gift giving and receiving, and especially of family time. We are so blessed to have so much of our family in one place, though we always miss those who are far away.

Christmas in Sun Lakes with the Grands and the East Enders was a blast. We had an abbreviated program with a reading of the Christmas story by Joe, some traditional carols, and Laurent, Megan and Geneva provided a beautiful rendition of Silent Night. JT, a newly minted Starbucks employee, brought all his specialty coffee making gear and played barrista for us, concocting many delightful beverages (and perhaps one or two that raised an eyebrow). The cousins, though nearly grown, seem to have more fun than ever, and that’s wonderful to see. We were overblessed with gifts, with food, and with wayyyy too much sugar.

I homeschooled four kids all the way through high school and then fostered/adopted 7 more children. I am wife to a very smart mathematician; I dabble in photography, write and sing, paint in bright colors, and love being Catholic!
