Last night Paul and I took eleven kiddos to downtown Glendale for Glendale Glitters – the annual holiday celebration of lights. It lasts about a month, on weekends, and there are outdoor movies, live music and dance on stage, street musicians, every sort of carnival trinket and kiosks of fair-food, as well as games and activities for kids and adults alike. It’s usually super-crowded, and I had my worries about keeping track of so many of the small, spontaneous variety of human, but all the bigger kids looked after the littles and it was all good. I think the chill kept a few people home that otherwise would have been there, so that helped, but it was still plenty busy and festive!
I took pictures, believe it or not. And let me just say, by way of explanation, that my evening’s photographic efforts were more of the candid, capture the feeling of the moment and the lights and the moving crowd sort, as opposed to anything remotely approaching real photography. And while I love the perfect shot as much as the next gal, I am surprised to find that I love some of the blurry ones a whole bunch. So here, without further ado, is Glendale Glitters, 2013.
