III: 4th of July Weekend — Cleaning House

Happy Birthday America!!

Our Independence Day began with a quick trip into town for a few essentials (and some breakfast, as we were under-prepared in that department by my forgetful shopping).  Once back at the ranch, when faced with the gargantuan task of expelling everything from the cabin, cleaning it, and putting everything back in a new and much better order, I began to quail and quake.  Verily, I was inching toward an epic freak-out at the prospect of the sheer number of decisions that much re-organizing would require of me.  It was at that point that Jacob was sent by my exceedingly thoughtful and loving husband to set up my favorite camping chair for me in the shade of my “Nettie’s Fort” fifty yards from the cabin, and I was instructed to sit there and relax, read my apologetics book, sip my icy beverage from the Alon station in town, and let the rest of the family take care of the disorder.  I would be called upon in due time, should my decision making be required.

And so that is what I did.  I sat, I sipped, I tried to read, my brain bounced around, and I ended up gazing across the ranch at the power plant and letting my mind wander.  Before long, I was indeed summoned, and my job was a pleasant one: Document the process.  Thus, I give you these lovely photos of my amazing, hard working, and diligent family, that you may visualize the process of their labors in bringing order from chaos.
