One hour at the park

One hour at the park

These last two weeks have been crazy due to downsizing our fleet of vehicles (hehe — I called three cars a fleet, but really, how blessed we are, that normally we have that much ease of transportation!).  Still, it’s been challenging to get Laurent to college and voice lessons and the kids to theater and everyone to church on their appointed days and hours in a timely manner.  One way that I managed the difficulty last week on theater day (in order that I would not need to drive to GCC, come home, wait 20 minutes, and then drive back again, pick her up, and go to theater) was to take all the kids along with me when I drove Laurent to her 11am class, and then spent the next hour with the kids at the Sahuaro Ranch Park which is right next to the college.  I brought the camera and we had a good time enjoying the beautiful breeze and bright blue skies over the palm trees, the citrus groves, the many roosters and hens and peacocks that wander the grounds there, and of course the gorgeous rose gardens.

Particularly impressive was the giant grapefruit tree we found in the citrus grove – as tall as the palm trees! I’ve never seen anything like it, and can’t imagine how old it must be! You could build a flet and live in that tree like the elves of Lothlorien…

I homeschooled four kids all the way through high school and then fostered/adopted 7 more children. I am wife to a very smart mathematician; I dabble in photography, write and sing, paint in bright colors, and love being Catholic!
