Fun with photo editing

I am so slow about learning new techniques when it comes to photo editing,
it’s not even funny.
I learn one new thing and do nothing else for a year.
I fear change, seriously.

I have just branched out though,
because my honey was cool enough to buy me the Adobe Photoshop upgrade,
and I want to make it a worthwhile purchase.
I’ve been using Corel Paintshop Pro,
just because it seemed easier to understand than Photoshop,
and have just begun to try working with curves.

Here is a cute little yellow car I saw yesterday while out walking with the family,
and two different edits.

This is just the raw photo, which is a bit washed out.

Edit 1.  Darkened up, contrast is good, but a little on the purplish side.

Edit 2.  The light is more natural, but the color is also more crisp than the original.

Although it’s more time consuming to edit this way,
there is so much more nuance possible.

I homeschooled four kids all the way through high school and then fostered/adopted 7 more children. I am wife to a very smart mathematician; I dabble in photography, write and sing, paint in bright colors, and love being Catholic!
