Broke

Broke

For the last few weeks I’ve been increasingly sure that something was going wrong with my Minty Van.  The grinding noise was getting deafening, and even to my untrained ears it was clearly a brake problem.  However, when it started making noise even when I wasn’t pressing on the brake, it was definitely the last straw.  Paul and I went out to drive around and see if he could hear it.  Well, we got about one house down the street and he told me to turn around, it was definitely the brakes.  He got the wheels off and brakes apart, and wow, was it bad – metal filings had been grinding off and were covering everything on one side!  He ended up having to replace one rotor and shoes on both sides.  I’m always grateful for his ability and willingness to save us money on car repairs as often as he can by doing them himself.
