Amazing Grace

As I sat down at the dining room table just now to write out the music for Megan
to play this hymn in the alto clef,
I couldn’t help remembering all the many manuscripts my mother produced over the years for her family…. for viola/cello duets, viola solo/piano accompaniment, cello solo/piano accompaniment, piano four-hands, viola/cello/cello/cello quartets, choral arrangements, piano accompaniments for all configurations of vocal ensembles…
this is a family tradition I am very happy to carry on.

I homeschooled four kids all the way through high school and then fostered/adopted 7 more children. I am wife to a very smart mathematician; I dabble in photography, write and sing, paint in bright colors, and love being Catholic!

  1. Oh, the memories! And OH! The amount of manuscript paper that was used!

    1. When it comes to composing anything lengthy or complex, music composition software like Noteworthy (or Finale or Sibelius if you have money to spend) is a miraculous time saver. But I actually enjoy doing a little notation now and then by hand. I would never have been able to produce the quantity that you did though!!
