Remember when I discovered that fabulous thrift store called My Sister’s Closet? Well, my shrinking mother has been increasingly in need of a total wardrobe makeover, and today she found something miles more economical. We’ll call it My Granddaughter’s Closet! The girls were clearing out some things from the laundry room that they no longer want to keep, and preparing to send them to Goodwill, when I mused that perhaps some of them might fit mom.
They were thrilled with the idea, and immediately began searching their stash in earnest, and in dizzyingly short order they had brought out a big stack of skirts and blouses and sweaters and jackets, and the fun began in earnest. Mother was floored by the thought that she could fit in the same sizes as her granddaughters, and just kept giggling in disbelief! It was a beautiful thing.
Then Laurent went back to her room and helped her clear out everything that is too big from her closet, and it was just about everything. The end result is a much roomier space in her closet, and lots more color!
I got some pics of her “to give” pile; then someone popped the snazzy green cowboy hat on her head, and finally a shot of her sporting her cute cap and driving gloves she picked up while we were shopping yesterday – to keep her hands from getting all black when she’s rodding around in the chair. Quite the “Biker Granny” look – love it! 🙂
