Overnighters

Yesterday after mass I came out of the church and into the crowded courtyard just in time to see Geneva being abducted by a Jezek girl on either side, sweeping her away to Smith Hall, where the doughnuts were being served for fellowship time.  We have only gone over for doughnuts about twice before, and I couldn’t see Paul and his Gonzales crew anywhere, so I thought maybe they were over there already – hence, my following.  I admit that once I was there, I ate a doughnut.  My willpower is very weak when I’m tired, and mass is a bit tiring especially for my back.  It was a very tasty doughnut though! 😀

In the few minutes we were in the building, the children hatched a plot to kid-switch – Geneva would go to their house, and Peter and Faith would come to ours.  Initially it was just for the afternoon – but after we’d had our usual Costco pizza lunch and been home for a while, it was clear they intended to make the most of it.  I called Laura, we agreed that no obvious harm could come from spending the night, and that was that.

There was much Minecraft playing, Dr. Who watching, and what Megan and Faith were up to I’m not sure, besides getting the Pirates of the Caribbean disc stuck in the laptop… at any rate, they kept mostly to themselves and only came out for a couple of episodes of NCIS LA and to partake in a delicious salad that Megan made for us… Romaine lettuce, black olives, red bell peppers, sliced onions, sliced carrots, and chunks of avocado.  Yummiest supper!!  Wish I’d taken a picture. 🙂

I don’t know how much past midnight their revelries extended, but they are all still asleep.  Now it is 7:20 and all those precious little people need waking up.  I’m about to start banging around in the kitchen with the dishes and making some coffee – call it a natural alarm clock, if you will.  🙂
