Only ten years ago,
I had a 2 year old girl, a 4 year old girl, and a 6 year old girl,
and what do you think they did all day long
besides tea parties
and reading to each other
and smooching their baby brother
and cutting each others’ hair?

On average, each girl could easily go through about 12 changes of clothing per day.
Their floor was constantly knee-deep in frippery.
The pace has slowed down a trifle,
but there is clearly a genetic quirk that makes them continue to enjoy playing dress-up. (Of course,
their auntie’s gifts of fancy dresses she no longer uses just add fuel to the fire!)
Also, their room is still constantly knee deep in frippery.
Today Megan started playing with her hair,
and once she had the up-do,
of course she had to find a dress to go with it.

Now all we need is a ball to which she can go in her finery.
She says she will not go to a ball, because she does not know how to dance, and furthermore she does not want to dance with any boys.
I am fine with that, for now.

21 Jan 2011It’s such a pretty color on her, and very feminine and floaty. I loved the up-do (“work that up-do!”) too – but it’s very hard to make it work without professional training. It came loose and I tried to fix it, and I just don’t have the know-how. I would if I practiced on both girls every day, of course… I wonder if they’d let me! 🙂
