Since many routinely arise before 5 am, I know it will seem silly that I groaned in disbelief when my phone alarm beeped at me this morning at that “ungodly” hour. But groan I did. And rise I did. Today my dear mum has a wee surgery scheduled, and she needed to consume her breakfast before 6am, since she can have nothing after that prior to her 1:30 procedure. So I brewed her cinnamon coffee, spun up a blueberry-cinnamon-protein smoothie for her, and brought it in. I had thought I might wake her, but she was already up and reading her Kindle.
Today is the day they will put the integra on her foot. I think the healing has been progressing on her foot wound, but of course, it will not completely heal until there is skin to cover the tendons. It’s supposed to be an outpatient surgery; however, the nurse I talked with yesterday indicated they might keep her as long as 23 hours afterward and still call it “outpatient” – so I’m praying things will flow smoothly and we’ll be home by suppertime. Or at least bedtime!
Meanwhile, we are also waiting and praying for Doug and Sarah’s baby to make his appearance, and I have a feeling it might be today!! Behold this beauteous family:
