The last two times we’ve gone to the ranch, it hasn’t been “we” – it’s been Paul. I have been unable to join the family for a while now because of my mobility issues. But that hasn’t stopped them from having a great time up north! Well… I have to be honest. It’s hard for Paul to do that trip on his own, and it’s got a lot to do with Ruben and Ellie just missing me and crying for mommy a lot at night. I feel so badly not being there with them, but it just isn’t possible right now. If you think of it, I wouldn’t mind your prayers that I can get back to the ranch some time this year and we can do our family thing as a family again!
Anyway, here are pics from March when Paul took all 7 of the youngest kids up north. They spent an afternoon out at Lyman Lake, playing by the water and climbing to high places:
The second trip was this weekend, and I was happy they made it two nights of the planned three. No doubt that was down to Laurent driving up to be with them Saturday – she’s a major help with the little ones. Poor Ellie was sick and beside herself and basically ate one marshmallow and a s’more the whole 48 hours. When she was feeling slightly better, they did some climbing out at Petroglyph Mountain and “Danger Mountain” as they have dubbed the big red rock cliff that we see across the road on the other half of the Carrizo Ranch.
One of my favorite tidbits about the weekend was finding out that both Efrain and Alyssa brought their bibles along for the weekend, and both Friday and Saturday evenings they sat around the campfire taking turns reading aloud from the book of Job! I love that so much!!
