Dishevelment

Dishevelment

I am just ridiculously excited that I accomplished two things today
that I have been meaning to do for
… “like years“.
I created master chore lists for both
Bathroom Cleaning
and
Kitchen Cleaning.
Really, Nettie, I said to myself, this isn’t that difficult.
The procrastination finally got to an embarrassing point,
and I sat down and finished them both in a flash.
Printed out,
and in a plastic sleeve,
they are a breeze to use, either in a binder,
or hang on the side of the fridge:

Oh the happiness and joy that awaits my little cleaning angels!! 😀
Without a doubt, the happiness is mine.
I thrive on lists…
why I avoided making these I can’t begin to say,
but — moving right along, it’s a new day.

Now, the next step will be to make a list just for shelves…

Oh!
— time out —
whoever can guess what this sign on our freezer says
wins a free hat.
(Anyone who lives in this house is ineligible for this prize.)
(Jeff you are also ineligible for this prize.)

Ok,
— time in —

And finally, there really only needs to be a short list for
this perennial mess:

PUT.
THEM.
AWAY!!!

I do not think I will go around the office and take a photo of every desk, although… I could.  Suffice it to say, each desk needs a list.
Dining Room, Pantry, Living Room, Laundry Room, each Bedroom…
…. ………………..
I shall not be discouraged at the thought,
but shall soldier on in the long and grand tradition of womanly virtue in which I stand as a mother,
toward the freedom from clutter that I
know
have faith

is our destiny.

UPDATE:

We have a prize winner.
I have been contacted via email by an interested party
by the initials of CSM.
He has correctly identified the Elvish word
in the above sign on our freezer
as reading:

“Lembas.”

Lembas is what my family calls my bread,
and that freezer is where we keep
both baked and ready to bake
bread.

  1. I’m so impressed….your list-making ability will only improve as you continue your lists!!!!

  2. If Mary read your blog, she would have decoded the sign. She’s quite fluent in Elvish!

    1. She and Laurent (who made the sign) would get on exceedingly well, I’ve no doubt!! 🙂
