A 13th Birthday

A 13th Birthday

September is Xavier’s birthday month, and this year he officially joined the ranks of of teenagers. It was a long awaited day, and he received everything he wanted – cash money for his pocket, and his own Instagram and Facebook accounts. Being camera shy, he’s not intensely focused on posting selfies (a trait of which I approve) but it’s nice for him to have a little social space.

Laurent generously provided two delectable cakes, with the assistance of Alyssa and Ruben who came over to her place the day before. I would guess that Alyssa helped, while Ruben kept Chelle and Pandora (her frisky kitties) properly occupied.

We had a fun time with the whole family together, including my dazzlingly handsome grandson, Patrick, and Geneva brought along our bonus-daughter, Sarah, whom we have missed seeing for many months of lockdown.

I’m grateful for the time together – so many are still unable to gather in this way.

I homeschooled four kids all the way through high school and then fostered/adopted 7 more children. I am wife to a very smart mathematician; I dabble in photography, write and sing, paint in bright colors, and love being Catholic!
