Going for Orange!

Every year around this time, karate class becomes much more serious and focused, in anticipation of the annual promotion test.  Because of our moving the last couple of weeks, Jacob has missed a few classes and therefore this past week has been very intense indeed, because today was the day.  Grandma and Grandpa came up for the day, helped around the house this morning, and then this afternoon we all went over to the dojo for an exciting four hours of thrills, chills, spills, some whacks to the head, a few toes getting stomped (sounds like Larry, Moe and Curly, right?), and lots of pictures as our boy graduated from yellow belt to orange.

Some time in the next week the new belts will be presented in class.  I always wish they could receive them on the day of the test, but oh well. 🙂  I’m very proud of Jacob and how far he has come with his skills.   Hoorah, Jacob!!
