Although I knew they had started painting the outside of the house early this week,
I couldn’t manage to remember to bring my camera with me
until I went over there on Thursday
while driving around running some errands with the kids.
I couldn’t be more tickled with how the new colors are looking!!
The green is actually brighter than I expected,
but that is a happy accident since it really pops with the bright white.
The trench in the front yard will soon be filled in –
that was dug because the city of Glendale required some sewer upgrades.
I’ve been working hard on my color schemes for inside…
this time I have cleverly decided to paint swatches on posterboard to test them out so I wont be devastated by a wrong decision after the fact
(there were a couple of mis-steps in my first incarnation of the multi-colored house)!
The color samples from My Perfect Color are fairly close,
but it does make a big difference when you see the actual paint color
with your own eyeballs.
Totally absorbed in the Batman Forever soundtrack.
A visit from a good friend had the girls gabbing endlessly about weaponry and comic books – hardly the usual girl talk,
but it certainly made life more amenable for the boy as he drifted in and out of the room, offering his thoughts on the comparative attributes of various comic book heroes and villains.
Just bought the book
Paleo Comfort Foods
by Julie and Charles Mayfield
Not sure how this will go over
since I’ve spent over 10 years perfecting my bread-making skills,
but I’m just exploring a little.
Good health is the goal!
Also just got this book.
It says it’s for dummies.
On first skim,
I don’t even qualify for that.
Sigh.
I should just hire a business manager, that’s what.
Can I just say,
after a summer of far more 115+ days than I think are warranted,
even in the desert,
what a bliss it is to sit in my living room
with the sliding glass door behind me wide open,
and the front door across the room wide open,
and the 75°F breezes wafting past me
as I sit in my recliner working on the laptop?
Today is too beautiful to believe,
and I give thanks.
