It’s a good thing there are other ladies in the family who are good at planning because if birthday parties were left up to me, it wouldn’t be nearly as awesome. This year Jessica and Laurent hatched a plan to put on an Irish themed party for Grandma Pat, and all I had to do was come up with some hors d’oeuvres. Off I went to You-Tube, and was inevitably pulled into a Tasty video playlist. This one was particularly enticing:
So many to choose from, but honestly I didn’t have the energy for the really fun ones. I haven’t been sleeping for going on two months now thanks to my broken CPAP, and am perpetually exhausted, so I decided on the easiest thing I could find – bite-size cheesy pigs-in-blankets. I took Jacob and went shopping Friday night, and gave him a list to go in for me, as he likes to do. NOT really his fault that he came out with Grand Biscuits instead of Puff Pastry. He’s a guy. Still, I thought that was going to result in something, er, interesting. I was right! Lol! But it was deemed delicious by everyone, especially the kids, who ate themselves silly before meal time. And that’s too bad, because Laurent made Dublin Coddle and fish cakes, Jessica brought colcannon and soda bread, and for dessert there were almond infused cupcakes and Irish Creme Cake! Ahh-mazing!
I got a few pics, just family around the house. Love my fam, love my MIL, and her motto is so true:
Family is SO IMPORTANT!
