Well, we don’t really know what bit him, but last week Jacob woke up with a red blistery patch on his left cheek, and his left eye completely swollen shut. We surmised that it may have been ants, since we have been fighting them the last week or so, and also, he has a history of this kind of reaction to ant bites. Usually though, they are on his feet, not his face!
Since then a great deal has been going on including all kinds of running around to do with Jeff being in the hospital, and several other things that just, day by day this week, have precluded even considering making an appointment to take him to the doctor… and here it is a week later, and the itchy, blistery swelling has spread to his entire face. But his left eye appears to be improving, as he is able to keep it open most of the time.
Left eye, where the original reaction first showed up.
Rash on cheeks and around mouth, just the last day or so.
He’s been mostly upbeat, but since I added benedryl to his regimen (along with hydrocortisone cream), he’s mighty sleepy whenever he’s on it… and then when he starts to wake up, he really bounces off the walls for a while.
I will have to see how he’s doing tomorrow but he probably will have to stay home from church. Sure hope this fades soon, it is not fun for him.
