Bits and Bobs

Some fun tidbits from this week:

  • Meeting with the good people at Dynamic Floors to choose ceramic tile, carpet, and vinyl flooring for our “new” house.  Mom, Jacob and Geneva came along, and we got to look at some beautiful choices within our allotted budget.  Taking a little here to add a little there, we managed to figure out how to afford tile almost everywhere, leaving the bedrooms carpeted, and vinyl flooring in the laundry room.  It’s going to be GORGEOUS, and I can’t wait to show you pictures. 🙂
  • Taking walks along the Linear Park with the family in the cool of the morning before breakfast, and observing the avian sanctuary in all its diversity.
  • Attending one more choir rehearsal before a summer break – it is always such a joy to sing with these marvelous musicians.
  • Shopping for some new clothing for my wardrobe… after wearing approximately 3 outfits for nearly a month, it is luxurious to have a few more choices.
  • Nearly finished with the table runner I decided to make with my blue and white cotton yarn.
  • Having so little in the way of DVD entertainment left, that Paul has finally consented, after literally years of fruitless pleading and cajoling, to watch LOST with us.   (Jeff was more than willing to contribute to the cause by lending us his set.)  We are halfway through Season 1, Disc 3, if any of you Lostophiles want to keep track of how it’s going. 😀

I homeschooled four kids all the way through high school and then fostered/adopted 7 more children. I am wife to a very smart mathematician; I dabble in photography, write and sing, paint in bright colors, and love being Catholic!

    1. Lol – Shhhhhhhhh! We’ve got a good thing going here! 😀 I expect we will be finished with LOST before we’re finished in this house though… so we’ll have to revisit the subject at a later date.
