A Birthday Road Trip

A Birthday Road Trip

My three girls, Laurent, Megan and Geneva, and two of their cousins, Emma and Abi Holston, took a road trip through California to celebrate Megan’s 21st birthday, and It.Was.Epic. They had the best time driving together, starting their journey in San Francisco and ending in LA. Along the way they stopped off at beautiful secluded beaches, swam in the surf, trekked through tall redwoods, navigated Chinatown, climbed Coit Tower, ate some interesting foods, and ended their adventure at the iconic Santa Monica Pier after nightfall with a memorable birthday dinner at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. I’m so delighted by all the fun they had – it was my vicarious vacation!

Although I sent along my camera, hoping for some of Megan’s magnificent photography, I’m afraid it seems to be broken. So all the pics I have are their phone pix that I filched from their Facebook gallery and Instagrams. #sorry #notsorry. Phone pix are not all that bad these days anyway! Here’s the gallery – pop it out to full size for the best view!

God bless you, Megan. Your first 21 years have been an adventure – I’m hanging on tight for whatever comes next! And I am forever grateful I get to be your mom.
