Sunday morning was a quiet one around the Heidmann domicile. I stayed home with mom, who was needing to take it easy after her rambunctious week of doctor’s appointments, and Geneva, who, though she had no memory of it, spent the entire night coughing. I got my gear together for the afternoon MMMBP (March Massively Multi-Birthday Party) in Sun Lakes, including beer cheese soup, sourdough bread, plastic bowls and spoons, & my camera (of course). Mom decided the afternoon excursion might be a little too strenuous so she stayed home and relaxed, and Geneva and I headed south.
It did not take long after we arrived for my husband to begin his typical “Crazy Uncle” routine, with a special little prank he’s been playing on his mother since he was a youngster…
And then a pesky nephew who placed far too much faith in his ability to outrun the old guy provoked the response he was looking for, got chased around the lake, and ultimately, got what was coming to him.
And it just wouldn’t be a family get-together at Grandma’s house without the free-for-all tackle Uncle Paul game…
One of these days he’s going to go down and have a hard time getting up, but for now, he’s in good shape and can take the abuse. :-DÂ And the kids seem to love it.
