10 Really Short Prayers to Say During the Day

I loved this post on St. Peter’s List so much, I wanted to post it here, for myself and for others who might benefit. In it you will find reflections on ten simple prayers that anyone can offer, any time.  I also loved his use of this image, which hung upon our dining room wall all the years I was growing up, and always reminds me of the prayerful atmosphere my parents created in our home. What a blessing that we were taught from our earliest days, by precept and even more importantly, by example, how to pray. I’m so thankful for a Godly heritage, and pray that I will be more and more faithful to continue that heritage for my children and my children’s children.

I homeschooled four kids all the way through high school and then fostered/adopted 7 more children. I am wife to a very smart mathematician; I dabble in photography, write and sing, paint in bright colors, and love being Catholic!

  1. I so enjoyed your posting of this picture! Having had it, as you said, in our dining room for so many years, I have missed it. And the article with the prayers was also very helpful and good. Thanks for sharing this!

  2. Super cool! The constant saying of a one-sentence prayer is especially popular with our Eastern Rite brothers and sisters, the favorite being: “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.” (the Jesus Prayer). I hope to find a way to get myself in a similar habit! 🙂 “pray without ceasing” 1 Thess. 5:17

    1. Yes, that one is wonderful as well. We are never without the need for mercy!

    2. Indeed! People always used to weep through the Kyrie at Mass. Wish I had more of that humility nowadays!
