Surprise Party!

Surprise Party!

Some parties are long expected, some parties are unexpected, and others are just kind of thrown together at the last minute.  Sunday we had one of the thrown-together-at-the-last-minute type — at least, for an occasion as momentous as my mother’s 75th birthday, I would call 2 days planning rather last-minute.

Nonetheless, we managed to find a few people who did not have prior commitments, and with lots of assistance from my eldest daughter, I was able to get a special menu prepared. Mom has been craving soup lately, so we made two big roasters filled with a couple of her favorites – potato-sausage, and tomato hamburger, both with an Italian twist. Other than that we kept it simple, with a tray of Costco croissant sandwiches and one of their nice big mousse-filled cakes.

The surprise was a success, and she really enjoyed our time of fellowship with our wonderful Jezek family.

Happy Birthday, dear Mama!! Love you so much!!
