August in Minnesota: A Brief Interregnum – Part 4

August in Minnesota: A Brief Interregnum – Part 4

Saturday morning Vicki and I were treated to a mini-concert, when Lauren, who had brought her baritone with her from Montana, brought it out and played for us. I couldn’t be more proud of her for picking up a brand new instrument and learning to play — and well! — and take so much joy from her music making.

Then I insisted on dragging the girls (and mom) over to Sts. Anne and Joachim, since they hadn’t seen it before, and I wanted to take some pictures. I know mine don’t hold a candle to the ones on the church website, but I just had to have my own pics. What a beautiful place of worship, with its mosaics and marble, stained glass windows and prayer shrines around the perimeter, and the lovely chapel as well, where they hold daily mass.

Two pics tagged on at the end from late in the day are of Doug with his baby, Joey, and his Margaret.

I homeschooled four kids all the way through high school and then fostered/adopted 7 more children. I am wife to a very smart mathematician; I dabble in photography, write and sing, paint in bright colors, and love being Catholic!
