Gifts

Gifts

Before I up and leave town, I want to say some things about today.

Thing One:

This is a heart-full of lovely people.

Each one is a gift for which I am so grateful!

Thing Two:

Joann brought these for us today, and they could not be more perfect for our home.

I love them, and I love you, Joann!

Thank you!!

Thing Three:

Mass today at Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral.  It was packed to overflowing, as it was the welcome-back mass for all the school families and those inquiring about the school.  Yet, despite the heat and crowds, how could it not be a gift above all others to worship Christ Jesus, to sing and pray with His Church, and to receive the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of my Lord and Savior!

Finally, Thing Four:

Tonight our family was offered a remarkable gift by a young newly married couple. Koos and Talitha have chosen to give us Talitha’s SUV – a vehicle far newer and in far better condition than two thirds of the cars we’ve been rattling around in (and it has air conditioning! Hosanna!!).  It will seat five, with more cargo space than our Toyota minivan.  We are soon going to need to take two vehicles wherever we go as a family, and we’ve been just glad that cooler weather is around the corner so our travels will be less like a drivable convection oven. I am dumbfounded, humbled, and grateful to these dear friends. God bless you for your generosity!!

I homeschooled four kids all the way through high school and then fostered/adopted 7 more children. I am wife to a very smart mathematician; I dabble in photography, write and sing, paint in bright colors, and love being Catholic!
