These days with my house full of teenagers, they are coming fast and furious — last month a daughter turned 16 and another took her first trans-Atlantic flight. This morning Megan was up bright and early and ready for her first day of her first job! She found out about it through church connections, and even though she has no work experience, I am grateful to say that her reputation around the church campus was viewed with favor by this employer, and she was hired last week. She went with Paul on Saturday for a tour of the facility at Arizona Complete Candy & Tobacco, which distributes candy and tobacco to businesses across Arizona that include convenience stores, smoke shops, hospitals, hotels, and many of the Indian reservations around the state. She was so exuberant when she returned home, as she had discovered that she will be working as a secretary/office assistant AND, she will have her own office! Pretty spiffy if you ask me. Anyway, this morning I was naturally prepared to take the requisite first-day-of-work photo, and … well, you can judge for herself what her mood was as she walked out the door to be a grown-up, hard-working, money-earning productive citizen…
