I do so love this time of year, driving through the neighborhood and seeing the lights outside people’s homes – it doesn’t matter whether it’s a full-on entertainment show with thousands of lights and music, or a humble string round the bush in the front corner of the yard. Just seeing someone put a little Christmas cheer on display, no matter how big or small, warms my heart. I have had varying levels of success over the years in getting lights up outside our house. In years past, we had two acacia trees, a tall pine, a date palm, and a saguaro, plus a little bush in the front corner, as canvases for my painterly whims. I loved it best when I could manage to put a different color on every tree, and white lights around the fence and house windows. That was pretty awesome. 🙂 But this year we are sadly depleted, having lost our pine and saguaro and one acacia…. Still, I was determined we should at least try. I decided on 3 sets of multi color lights, and Laurent and Jacob worked together to get them up on our remaining trees. It’s not a big deal, but it’s our contribution to the neighborhood cheer!
