Perhaps it’s not officially a “sin” to delight in voluminous kitchen equipment, but if there was an anonymous group for people addicted to brobdingnagian bake-ware, I might have to sign up. Our bi-weekly shopping trip yesterday was my first opportunity to go back to the glorious Costco I had only briefly toured on a previous visit. And this time I had a little money to spend judiciously! Oh glory-hallelujah, but what should I choose?? The gargantuan metal mixing bowls were sorely tempting, but I disciplined myself, and settled for a few spatulas (to replace the ones Gwinnie stole), a meat tenderizer, and a surprisingly inexpensive full size cookie tray. My grandiose visions of increased baking efficiency were, however, unceremoniously doused with the cold water of reality when I found that this pan is about 1″ too wide to fit in my oven. It seems I will have to bequeath it to Paul – he suggested using it to catch oil drips in the driveway. Sigh. I am now plotting how I might acquire one of these.

1 Feb 2013I had a brief question about its’ size when I observed it in her cart….but I didn’t say anything, not wanting to appear to throw cold water on her wonderful find! So…..it shall frid a use, I am sure!!!

1 Feb 2013Yep… I refused to acknowledge the niggling doubts as I tucked it down the side of my cart, and chose instead to cling tenaciously to my delusional innate optimism.
