Sweet Sixteen, Part One

There’s a lull in my day, so I’m sitting down for a wee catch-up.

Whirl-windy preparations are afoot for the big shindig on Sunday afternoon.  We’re having a “bit” of a party for Megan’s 16th, “Golden” birthday – and expect a house-full of fun folks to be helping us celebrate.  That meant two shopping trips yesterday, and another one today, and lots of cleaning and dusting and mopping.  Thankfully the cooking will be simple (she asked for Little Ceasar’s – can’t complain about that!) so we can focus on the fun!

We began the celebration a little smidge early by giving her our present last night.  Normally we do NOT NOT NOT do early presents.  (Well, the Holstons pretty much ALWAYS did early presents, cuz none of us could wait to give them.  The Heidmann House rules, however, state that early presents are Right. Out.) However, we knew she would want this particular present  on Sunday, is the thing!!

Here’s how that went down:

(remember: captions under the i, and fullscreen is best!)

Tomorrow will unfold the REST of the birthday. 🙂

  1. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? How can Megan be 16 already? She was just a little girl a few days ago! Have we really been online friends for that long?

    1. It’s not even funny. “For real!!!” I shake my head in utter flabbergasted disbelief when I contemplate the speed of these first 16 years with little Meggsie Moomz. I miss those chubby cheeks of yesteryear, but absolutely love the vivacious, artistic young lady of today. They grow up, and it is good. It is as it should be.
