…because that way, you wont find yourself wondering “Is it 8am, or 9am?” when planning what time to leave the house for your mother’s appointment.
The up side of arriving before 8am for a 9am appointment? You still have time to drive to the McDonalds and buy coffee, come back, and get rock star handicapped parking in the shade! Definitely worth it. The hilarious thing was, the day-after-the-fourth scheduling at the wound care clinic was so slow, we got in before 9, and were done by 9:10. So quick! And I’m happy to say that there is visible progress on the foot front, so we are very pleased. We also learned that they usually leave the integra on for 6 weeks, which is longer than the surgeon had indicated, so that’s good to know.
Around the house, there was some school, a lot of tidying and a completely new living room/dining room furniture arrangement, thanks to Megan. She worked awfully hard for someone struggling with a head-and-neck-ache. Tomorrow I will try to get an appointment for her with the chiropractor.
And then, there was the missing algebra book. For some unfathomable reason, the book Megan used this morning could not be found anywhere in the house this afternoon when Paul came home and expected to work with Megan on her math. We looked EV.ER.Y.WHERE. It’s still missing. Thus came the edict from on high (that would be me) that all the school books would have to come off the shelves and we would do a major reorganization. (It’s been building up to this for a while anyway – might as well get it done before we “really” start up school again in the fall. Well, my dining room table is currently laden with piles, and the shelves are still in horrific disarray, so the work will extend into tomorrow.
We finished the day with family prayers in the living room, and I can’t tell you how great a blessing it is to pray together for the needs of our family and friends. We have begun to do so more regularly, several times a week, and we find it to be a grace filled time when we can quiet our minds and focus on uniting our hearts as we pray for Christ’s divine mercy.
