Last Weekend…

Oh goodness, how behind I have gotten myself, with my running here and running there, and the taking of my brother to the chiropractor (he’s finally able to drive himself again, thanks be to God) and all the sickness in our house that never seems to end and then when it does end, it comes back, and the falling out of my temporary front tooth crown and the needing to go in and get it replaced (really, never underestimate the importance of a front tooth to your self worth, much less biting ability)…

Ok, so when last I blogged, we had just enjoyed the bread baking bonanza on Friday, and had two lovely young ladies staying for the weekend.

Saturday consisted of shopping for a bunch of ingredients for my contributions to the planned Sunday Birthday extravaganza in Sun Lakes for Mother Heidmann’s birthday: Chicken Curry, Mango Salsa, and Cucumber Mint Raita.  Naturally this meant another trip to everyone’s favorite – Lam’s Asian Market!

The smell of the curry as it roasted all afternoon and slowly through the night was, to say the least, tantalizingly distracting….

After church on Sunday we motored ourselves down to Sun Lakes, where traditionally Jessica and I kick Mother Heidmann out of the kitchen for the day, and proceed to cook all our favorite asian foods.  Unfortunately this year, Jessica had to stay home with a sick little Joe, so I had Laurent stand in as Jessica’s mini-me chef and she was awesome. 🙂

As I say, the rest of the week since then has been a bit of a blur.  We are now on the verge of not only another weekend, but a LONG weekend.  And when there is a LONG weekend, the Heidmann family’s thoughts invariably turn to….

The RANCH!

So we are leaving.  Today.  And Malinda (who has never been there before) is coming with us, so we are going to have even more hilarity than usual.

And there will be photography, world without end.  Amen.  😀
