Locks for Love

About a year ago, the girls came home from Youth Group with a form requiring my signature.  It was a permission slip for donating hair to Locks for Love.  They had discussed it and Megan had decided she wanted to go for it.  The deal was, no cutting or chemical treatments on the hair for the next year.  She already had long hair at the time, so I knew it would be quite a big donation when this December rolled around.  We talked about hair styles, and I told her I thought the perfect look for her would be a pixie — so that is what she asked for when she went in today to her after-mass appointment at the Life House.  They said “Megan, you are so brave!” 😀  Not too many come in and want to have that dramatic a change, but she was sure, and the process was a blast from start to finish.  The only tears were from Oma at the first cut — she was very touched by Megan’s generous heart.

Here are the last pics of Megan’s gorgeous long hair, and the first pics of her stylin’ new do.

Megan says she definitely wants to do this again in 2-3 years, but I think she wants to enjoy the short look for a while.

  1. She looks so cute! I love it when people donate their hair. I should look into doing it since I only find the time maybe once or twice a year to get my hair cut anyway !

    1. I would definitely do it if I had hair, but mine doesn’t grow much any more. Maybe I should take those dandy prenatal vitamins!

    2. That would probably help! Lol. They make me sick though.
