The color just grabbed me and I had to have it.  Inexplicable, irrational, lovely color joy.  I picked up 5 super-saver skeins just before leaving for the ranch, so I’d have something to occupy my hands during the cold days up north, and just before leaving, I took a look at a pattern my mother had done up in a dark sage green.  It seemed do-able.  I started it there, crocheted my fingers to the bone while waiting for the tow truck, and finished it off tonight.

Here is the end result.

It will synchronize well with the colors in the office, when I get around to painting in there.   Which, seeing as how I am beginning to yearn to walk the aisles of Home Depot just so I can ogle the Behr paint samples, I had better schedule for early in 2011…

  1. Okay, I have to admit that crocheting is often faster than knitting! It must be very gratifying to finish such a large project so quickly!

    1. Indubitably – though usually it takes longer than this did. Simple pattern, alternating 5 dc/5chain, the fingers fairly fly! There are of course scads of crochet patterns I wont go near because they are impossibly complex and require far too much counting… they would be much more your speed! 🙂
