Little Richard

Little Richard

Over the weekend up at the ranch with the family, a rite of passage occurred. My husband has for some years been the proud owner of a Marlin .22 bolt action rifle that was first owned by his grandfather, Richard Heidmann. Richard passed it on to his son Fred, who passed it on to Paul, who named it Little Richard. (Because he is a namer of things.) He decided that this weekend was the perfect time to pass along this family heirloom to the next generation of Heidmann men. And so it was that, on Friday afternoon, Jake was able to practice for the first time up at the range with his very own antique rifle. He is showing all the signs of becoming an avid participant in the family sport of marksmanship.

I homeschooled four kids all the way through high school and then fostered/adopted 7 more children. I am wife to a very smart mathematician; I dabble in photography, write and sing, paint in bright colors, and love being Catholic!
