My afternoon of photo editing was constrained by the need to leave before 4pm to bring Jacob to SSJ for a freshman/sophomore retreat. After dropping him off and being none-too reassured by his comment that he could either have fun, or behave, but not both, Paul and I were finally free to have some wild and crazy couple time.
I was surprised to learn that my first destination of choice, Fry’s Electronics, was such a happenin’ place on Valentines Day — they were doing some brisk business, and I was comforted to be surrounded by throngs of other nerdy couples. We left the store with quite a haul, including a new Nettie Keyboard, a wrist cushy for my mouse hand, a neck pillow for when I’m in my recliner (yes, I should have gotten the leopard print, but I just went with basic black… BORING!), and Lastest and Bestly, an amazing and extremely needed Case Logic Camera Backpack, to house and protect my growing stable of lenses and accoutrements. It even holds a laptop (I don’t have one, but if I get one some day, Boom. I’m ready to go.)! My sweetie takes good care of me.
In return, I feed him. I took him out for a yummy dinner at Blue Burger Grille, followed by a movie.
We saw Jupiter Ascending, and it was… colorful, I guess would be the best descriptor.
Loud, also… a little convoluted, a bit too much reliance on explosions and sci-fi fight sequences, could have used more plot and character development maybe. But Eddie Redmayne pulled off a deliciously nasty villainous character, so that was fun. And as I said – colorful. The costuming, effects, and filming were beautiful!
