Sunday morning:<\/p>\n

5:30 a.m. – get up
\nmake coffee
\nwait for coffee to drip
\nmindlessly surf internet while waiting
\ndrink coffee
\nshower and dress and all that jazz
\nremind kids to bring their overnight bags to church
\n*
\nmarvel at children who can
\ndress themselves
\ndo their own hair
\npack their own bags
\n*
\npack choir bag
\npurse
\ncomfy shoes for after church
\ncamera
\nextra batteries
\n7:40 a.m. – begin loading car
\n(mom staying home due to cold virus)
\nget all my bags, Laurent & Megan’s overnight bags, and the viola in trunk
\ntrunk will not close
\ntrunk will not close
\ntrunk will not close
\ntrunk finally closes
\n7:50 a.m. – stop at Lisa’s house
\nnobody answers the knock
\nhead for church
\n7:59 a.m. – pull into parking spot
\ngrab choir bag from trunk
\nlet Megan close it because she has the touch
\nbriskly walk to choir practice
\n8:50 a.m. head over to cathedral for mass
\n10:30ish – mass is ended
\nPaul drives away with Laurent, Geneva and Jacob in the car
\ndrive back to house with Megan in white mini van
\nunload all the bags
\ncheck in on Mom, who is feeling better
\nload three pizzas, 3 packages of cheesey bread sticks
\n4 pkgs mini cupcakes
\n1 carrot cake
\n1 white cake with white frosting
\nload mom and chair
\n11:10 a.m. drive through McD’s to get mom a belated breakfast
\n12:00 p.m. arrive in Sun Lakes
\nunload
\nrelax with family<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Laurent begins a 1500 piece puzzle<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Geneva chills.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Fred (in the yellow), Jim, Dianne (visiting from ND), Jan, Paul, Muril & Betty (visiting from MN) and Mom
\njoin Pat in the living room for some gab time
\nwhile waiting for Jon to arrive with JT, Joe and Jenna.<\/p>\n

Jess had to stay home with Jadyn who had a fever.<\/p>\n

During the hiatus, Megan spent most of the time in the laundry room preparing her secret gift for Grandma.<\/p>\n

\n(She had asked me in the morning before church if I would write out the music to “Happy Birthday”
\nfor her to play on the viola.
\nI continue to be amazed at her confidence and willingness to perform with no more than a couple of weeks of coaching from me!
\nI would never have dreamed of trying to perform a solo when I had been playing for 2 weeks!!
\nI obliged, however, and quickly wrote it out on a sheet of notebook paper so she could bring it along to Sun Lakes with her instrument –
\nand she practiced and practiced in that laundry room until she had it down,
\nand after dinner she overcame a sudden case of memory loss
\nand performed it brilliantly.)<\/em>
\n~*~*~*~*~<\/p>\n

Then suddenly, Jon & boys arrived,
\nfollowed soon after by Jess and Jadyn, whose fever had gone down,
\nso we were all able to celebrate
\nMother Heidmann’s birthday together
\n(as families should).<\/p>\n

It was particularly marvelous that Jess came,
\nbecause she brought most of the entertainment.
\nShe has recently become a sales rep for a wig company,
\nand brought a couple along for
\npeople to try…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Megan had a very hard time tucking her mass of thick wavy brunette hair underneath this short blond wig, but she HAD to try anyway!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Jacob sat outside the bedroom on the patio,
\nlooking in through the open sliding glass door
\nat all the hoo-hah with the wigs,
\nmunching his pizza in
\nbewilderment.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Joe, though disinterested in wigs,
\nhad to come in and show off Jacob’s mad scientist goggles.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>We already knew this one looked good as a blond!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>This was a surprise –
\nI LOVE the bright highlights with her dark eyes and fair skin!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Can you tell where the wig ends and her natural hair begins?
\nThis one turned out to be an EXACT match for Megan!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Fred looks like a long lost Beatle…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>I think I like him better bald.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The grandmas laughing it up!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>I like the blond on mom, but we’d have to trim those bangs. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n

Later,
\nI did a mini glamour shoot\u00c2\u00a0 out by the lake when Megan put on a fancy dress….<\/p>\n
